Director of Entrepreneurship Initiatives
My name is Yuzhuo. I graduated from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business with a major in Finance and currently work as a Commercial Account Manager at Desjardins Group, focusing on developing the Asian market. As an international student who arrived at a young age and chose to build a career in Canada, I have faced and overcome many of the same challenges that many Asian individuals experience. These include dealing with unfair treatment as a minority, language barriers, and a lack of familiarity with local culture. Building a career under these circumstances can be particularly challenging.
My first experience with YCPA was through a friend who invited me to an event. There, I connected with many individuals who shared similar experiences. Hearing their success stories and receiving advice on adapting to different environments as an Asian person was incredibly inspiring. It reinforced my belief in myself and highlighted the importance of having a platform like YCPA that bridges connections and supports the Asian community. I deeply appreciate YCPA's mission and wish to contribute to its growth, helping to inspire and support others as I have been supported.
I have three visions to help YCPA reinforce its value:
- Amplify the voice of the Asian community. Expand Asian culture to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Empower young Asian professionals, to build their careers in the early stage. And potentially attract more Asians to join the workforce or invest in Canada.
- Most importantly, Merge Asian and local cultures, enhancing mutual understanding and collaboration to continuous development.
With years of experience analyzing complex financial cases and delivering strategic recommendations, I have developed my skills in communication and relationship management. I have also successfully organized several large-scale events. I am proud to be a member of the Board of Directors for the YCPA, and I am confident that my professional expertise, skills, and most importantly my positive energy will make a valuable impact on the development of YCPA.
