Following the adoption of the motion proposed by Senator Vivienne Poy in December 2001, the Government of Canada signed a formal declaration in May 2002 to designate the month of May as the Asian Heritage Month.
The Asian Heritage Month recognized the long and rich history of Asian Canadians and their contributions to the growth and prosperity of Canada. In fact, Canada’s cultural diversity has strengthened the country in countless of ways: socially, politically and economically. Thus, this makes the Asian Heritage Month the ideal opportunity for everyone to celebrate the beauty and wisdom of various Asian cultures.
To highlight this heritage, the Young Chinese Professional Association created the Orchid Ball, which has become their signature event and the reference for other chambers of commerce and professional associations.
It has become, the most exquisite event of the Asian community, boasting with prestigious guest and sell-out tables every single year to the rhythm of breathtaking performances.
An evening that promise nothing short of an unforgettable experience.
